Kill ’em with kindness

“Kill ‘em with kindness.” Todd Gent

There will always be negative people.

The human brain has a natural tendency to give weight to (and remember) negative experiences or interactions more than positive ones—they stand out more.

Negativity is often a product of depression, insecurity, or bad experiences. It can stem from illness, limiting beliefs, life events, and personality problems. As many other things in life, negativity can become a habit.

You can change from negativity to a more positive outlook on life. It will not happen overnight, but, with time and focus, a better life can be realized.

As Michael Jackson sang, “I’m gonna make a change.” The following are a few ideas to start with in order to do that:

· Focus on the good things. Challenging situations and obstacles are a part of life.

· Practice gratitude.

· Keep a gratitude journal.

· Open yourself up to humor.

· Spend time with positive people.

· Practice positive self-talk.

· Identify your areas of negativity.

· Start every day on a positive note.

We are not always able to get away from those folks who live in the negative, but we can choose to respond to them with positivity and simply a smile. We do not know what they have experienced that has caused them to act the way they do.

Be the sun they haven’t seen in a while.

Be happy. It drives people crazy.
