Ever gone somewhere only to turn around and leave?

I drove over the bridge to surprise a friend. Nearing his house, my heart began to beat very fast, and I could feel the panic attack coming on. The attacks are exhausting, mentally and physically, and I did not want to be in full-on “losing it” mode going into the house.

“He probably wouldn’t have wanted to visit with me anyway,” the self-loathing voice in my head told me.

I gave up, turned around, and headed right back to solitude. An empty, lonely house was the better choice because at least there I could be my true self.

Just so tired of it.

And the worst part is that the friend was my own brother.

Today I have no problem going places and actually entering them!

It wasn’t overnight, but I now go out on my own and leave the panic attacks behind.

You can do the same.

Are you stuck inside but long to get out? Let’s talk, just message me.
